Being obsessed with your value from books
Your wealth is not in the self help books, it's in the message.
What does it help to read the blurb? They are all similar anyway or atleast, I do not think they are intensely helpful, unless well written. I find that when you read the blurb of any book, the mind already has a preconceived idea of the message in the book and this is influence by the book cover design, knowing the author’s writing style and if not, the genre still creates some sort of expectation from the book.
The reader being the author vs the author being the reader
Would you not agree that the reader reading the book will interpret whats written by the author to their understanding and the author can only influence the reader’s thoughts through the word written, but even that is not guaranteed? (Especially if your style of writing lacks descriptive writing skills.) On the contrary where we expect the author to be teaching the reader, the person who goes through the biggest change and growth is more than usually the author.
Growth, who gets it?
The author. Imagine dedicating your time to write a book? It might be difficult for others to imagine but writing a book involves identifying who the book is written for in order to sell well. Knowing your audience will direct you in the content you cannot miss out, which in turn sharpens you in research to ensure that the material in the book is accurate for readers. The more accurate, reliable and unique a book is, the more value is has. And it is the author’s value and energy awaiting to transfer itself into you!
Reading has become not just an obsession, but an obsession for my value.
Your value in the words
Have you noticed how affirmations and scientists recommend writing or journalling as a technique of manifesting? Journaling is a powerful way to develop a positive mindset, conducive to realising your dreams and aspirations. Hence, reading has a similar effect provided that you READ TO INCREASE YOUR OWN VALUE from the book or text you are reading.
